Let’s Build a City That Works for Everyone
Jon Rawlings for LA City Council
I’m Jon Rawlings – a dad, a neighbor, and a candidate for LA City Council in District 3.
I’m not part of the political machine. I’m not backed by the insiders, the big donors, or the people who’ve spent years playing the City Hall game. I’m running because I’m fed up, like so many of you, with a city that doesn’t work.
Every day, we see the failures: housing prices through the roof, more people living on the streets, and basic city services that go ignored for months. I’m running to fix what’s broken and make LA a city that’s affordable, safe, and actually works for the people who live here.
More Housing — That People Can Actually Afford
I’ll fight to build 5,000+ new homes in District 3, including at least 1,500 affordable units by cutting red tape, rezoning smartly, and making it easier to build in the neighborhoods where people want to live.
Safer Streets — For Everyone Who Uses Them
More stop signs. Speed bumps where they’re needed. Safer crossings near schools and parks. Plus better bike lanes to connect our neighborhoods, so everyone in our community can feel safe.
Infrastructure That Works — Sidewalks, Parks, Transit
Our sidewalks, streetlights, roads and parks are too neglected. I’ll fight to restore the budgets for our city services and find more efficiently ways to get things fixed.

Why I’m Running
I live in Tarzana with my wife and two kids. We both work full-time — and like a lot of families in LA, we still feel like we’re barely keeping up. Housing costs keep climbing, city services keep getting worse, and City Hall keeps handing out excuses instead of results.
I’m not a politician. I’m not connected to the power brokers or backed by insiders. I’m just a neighbor who’s tired of the red tape, the broken systems, and a city that only seems to work if you’re wealthy or well-connected.
That’s why I’m running — as a grassroots underdog who believes this city can work for everyone, not just the few.
Ready to Fix This City?
If you’re frustrated that housing is more and more unaffordable, city services don’t work and city hall isn’t listening, you’re not alone.
Tired of City Hall insiders making big promises and delivering nothing?
Tired of a system that only works for the wealthy and well-connected?
Whether you care about housing, safer streets, or just a city that actually responds when you report something, this campaign is for you.
Let’s build a better Los Angeles, together.
